About 

Barbara B. Rose Elementary is one of eight elementary schools in the Barrington 220 School District, serving grades K-5. The school mascot is the Stingray. Rose opened in 1999 in South Barrington. It is named after Barbara Blanchard Rose, who served on the Board of Education from 1977-1981 and as a volunteer for Barrington Youth Services. In 2024 Rose celebrates 25 years of excellence in education.

For absences, please call the office prior to 9:00 a.m. to report the reason for your child's absence. If you know of an absence in advance or an extended absence, contact the attendance office with the date(s).

Hours

On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday the school day begins at 8am and runs until 2:40pm. Every Wednesday there is an early release at 2:10pm. Hours for kindergarten students are as follows: 

• AM: 8:00am - 10:40am
• PM: 12:05pm - 2:40pm (Wednesday early release at 2:10pm)
